Even in a pandemic….

I was just sitting here thinking about how drastically life can change in the blink of an eye. Yes, after roughly six-months we are still here. This time last year who would have thought we would have to have to wear a mask before we enter in an establishment, have our temperature scanned before being permitted, and stay 6 feet apart in small groups.

Though at times in the world we live in today, it seems as if all hell is breaking loose, and the world is turning upside down. What keeps me grounded is my faith. Matthew 6:33 has been a scripture that has stood out to me for a few years now. Before I sold a book, a t-shirt or booked a client I sought the Kingdom. And yes I still do. It’s my faith that has kept me grounded.

See I had to learn that NOTHING changes the word of God over your life. There are no take backs when it comes to God’s promises. The thing about God’s promises is that you have to believe He can not only do it, but that He can do it for you! You MUST believe that you are the apple of God’s eye. You MUST believe that it is God’s good pleasure to bless you!

In my book, Simply Does It, I talk about mindset. I begin with how growing up I was the home girl who rode shotgun, so I took that as the best that God had for me. It came easy for me to become content because I love to see people win and “come up,” but I never saw it for myself. Once I realized that in order to change that thought, I had to come out of agreement with that old mindset.

How did I do that you ask?

Consuming myself with the Word and allowing God to become my Heavenly Father. What eased that transition for me was to reflect on the parent child relationship that my boys have with my husband and I. If they are worried they come to us. When they need help, they come to us, even when their friends have needed help they’ve come to us.

They flick on those lights, go in and out of the fridge and use that WIFI like these thing automatically happen. They walk around here without a care in the world. Guess what, that’s the way it’s supposed to be. A child is not supposed to worry, it’s our job to make them feel safe and let them know we got them.

Same with our relationship with God. He told us to cast our cares on him, because He cares for us. I remember thinking one day my kids where playing like nothing else mattered. It was in that moment that change my perspective forever, because my next thought was, you need to take after their "posture."

So I say for those who believe, I want to encourage you that whatever God said, He’s still going to do it! Trust him; put him in remembrance of his word. Anyone who knows me and has heard me pray knows I will put God in remembrance in a hot second!

According to…verse and scripture…God you said…. (Recite scripture.) SO I’m standing your promises because I know that your word will not return to me void. It will achieve the purpose that you sent it!

Amen

So today take up a child's posture and choose to believe…..

EVEN IN A PANDEMIC!
