Hello, Hello, Hello!
It’s been such a long time, and I have missed you.
I have been on a much-needed sabbatical, and I am so thankful for the love and support of my amazing husband,my family, friends, and of course all of you!
Last year I unexpectedly lost one of my most favorite people in the world, My older brother Patrick. Now me being me, I expected to handle this like I do everything else in life, deal with it and keep moving. This was different, this hit me like a ton of bricks, it felt like my world had stopped but the whole world was still moving all around me simultaneously.
I was in a different place, and I didn’t like it at all. The strong, self-sufficient, I can do it woman, didn’t know what to do. I was emotional and I was vulnerable, so I had to remain in my safe place. I experienced every level of grief you could imagine. In addition to the everyday demands of life I had to do something to move forward.
So.... I increased my therapy visits:
1) Because mental health is a priority
2) I needed some tools to navigate through these murky waters
Having said all of this, I found myself on a “Self -Journey.” When we hear the word self, we think self-care, which I am all for, but to dig deeper this led me to find self-compassion,
self -forgiveness, self- awareness, self- love and my favorite self-acceptance.
My brother’s death made me examine my own life but, more importantly LIVING a fulfilled life. Make sure you connect with me on Insta. Over the next month I will share some of my realizations and tips to help you if you ever find yourself on your own "self- journey" for whatever reason.
Today’s Takeaway:
You are stronger than you think,
You weren't built to break,
& Life may be tough, but so are YOU!
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you and catching up on what you have going on. Together we can conquer the chaos that life tries to throw at us. I’m always here cheering you on.
Until we chat again,
Choose to Be Good to Yourself
